Course Descriptions and Policies
Teachers & Classes: Our teachers are committed Christians who have experience teaching, are knowledgeable in their subject matter, and are excited to teach your children. Our courses are designed to assist you with homeschooling. Redeemer is not a “school” as defined by the state of Kansas. The “school” your child attends is your homeschool. We offer courses to assist you with your homeschooling. Please note that some public virtual school programs will allow these classes to count toward their course requirements; you can contact your program to see if this is an option for you.
Homework Expectations:
Students are expected to complete homework assigned by their course teachers. Homework expectations will be greater for students who are older. 3rd and 4th grade classes should expect very little homework. 5th-8th grade classes should expect 10-30 minutes of homework per schoolday when not in class. High school students should expect 20-60 minutes of homework per schoolday when not in class. Tests or quizzes may be given, depending on the class.
Grading Assignments/Course Grades:
Course teachers will grade assigned work, but ultimately, since each parent is the official teacher for their student, each parent decides their student’s final grade for the class. Course teachers will provide graded information to help parents make that determination.
Tuition and Fees:
For classes that meet two days per week: Tuition is $450 per class (for the year).
For classes that meet one day per week: Tuition is $225 per class (for the year).
Full-time students receive 10% off tuition.
Tuition covers teacher compensation, facilities rental, and group insurance. There are no additional fundraising or parent volunteering requirements. There are opportunities for tuition assistance through parent work hours. Please contact us for available opportunities.
There is a textbook/supply fee of $100 per class. Textbooks, Classroom Project Supplies, and Art Supplies will be provided. You will still need to provide standard school supplies such as paper, calculators, pencils, notebooks, etc.
We plan to have a musical production for grades 6-12. In order to participate in the production, a student must be enrolled in at least one course. Signups will occur later.
Full-time status is enrollment in four classes. Part-time status is enrollment in 3 or fewer classes.
An application fee of $100 per student is due at the time of enrollment, and is non-refundable, but it is applied toward tuition due. Full tuition is due by July 1, 2026, and is nonrefundable.
Your enrollment form must include a signed Statement of Faith, signed by parents and students.
Please complete a student information page for each student who is applying for admission.
Part Time Students Study Hall Room:
If your student is not enrolled in a class for part of the day, they must either be enrolled in our supervised Study Hall, or they must not be in the building. They cannot remain in the building between/before/after their classes during Redeemer hours unless they are enrolled in Study Hall. A supervised study hall room will be available for students who are taking classes part-time and have time in between classes during which they need a place to stay and do homework. There will be a $100 fee per hour for using this space, as it will be supervised by an adult.
Tech Policy and Behavioral Policy:
Tech Policy: Redeemer will be a cellphone-free and smart-tech-free environment. If students bring cell phones or smart tech with them, they should have them turned off and inside their bags at all times. If students have their devices out, even if they are not using them, the device will be confiscated until the end of the school day. If a student has an item confiscated more than once, a fee may be imposed and parents will be notified. The purpose of this policy is to create a space where students interact with one another and their teachers face-to-face in conversation, rather than through a screen. Our teachers will not form any group texts or chats with students that would require them to use a phone or tablet. However, older students may find it beneficial to utilize the internet for research for some assignments. Guidance on using the internet well for research will be provided, and parents will be notified if an assignment might benefit from internet use.
Behavioral Policy: These courses are designed to help students learn. If a student does not wish to be in the course and exhibits disruptive behavior, and/or is disruptive in a way that causes themselves or other students to be unable to learn, or teachers unable to effectively teach, parents will be notified and decisions will be made as to the best course of action.
Social Community:
We plan to build a robust social community for all students attending classes at Redeemer. As such, we will have social events throughout the year. Our goal is to build one another up in love, and to create an opportunity for students and their families to come together and be part of a local homeschool community. Student social events have included gatherings with s’mores, a family line dance, international food tasting, a trip to the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, and more.

Statement of Faith
We are a Christian organization. This Statement of Faith is included with the enrollment form and must be signed and returned as part of the admission process.
This Statement of Faith adopted by Redeemer Homeschool Academy is limited to primary Christian doctrine. Primary Christian doctrine is that which is central to all Christian churches and sets Christianity apart from other faiths. We teach primary Christian doctrine only, directing students to Scripture and their parents for guidance in forming secondary beliefs.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created, sustains, and rules all things. All creation exists for and attests to His glory.
We believe that God has revealed himself and his truth in both nature and in Scripture. We believe the Bible alone to be the word of God, the ultimate and infallible authority for faith and practice.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Living Word, became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He who is true God became true man united in one Person forever. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. On the third day He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Mediator.
We believe that all human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful humans, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone in Christ alone, and that faith without works is dead.
We believe that the Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to our hearts, He gives new life to us, empowers and imparts gifts to us for service. He instructs and guides us into all truth, and seals us for the day of redemption.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and in the primacy of the local church as the place where believers should live out this unity.
We believe that God created us male and female in His image; that gender identity may not be detached from the biological sex of the human body; that marriage is a covenantal, procreative union of one man and one woman; and that God intends for children to be raised and nurtured in an environment that honors these distinctions. We believe that sexual union is to be exclusive to covenantal, heterosexual marriage.
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again to earth - personally, visibly, and bodily - to judge the living and the dead, and to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
