5th and 6th Grade Course Information

Course Information: Some classes meet both days per week, and some classes meet only one day per week. Tuition for classes that meet two days per week is $450, and tuition for classes that meet one day per week is $225. (Book/supply fee of $100 per class; no other class fees. 10% discount for full-time enrollment.) Most classes will have 10-30 minutes of homework per school day. Language Arts will have more than others; some weeks other classes may have less.

5th/6th Grade Science: This class meets on both Wednesdays and Fridays.

5th/6th Grade Language Arts: This class meets on both Wednesdays and Fridays. Students will read novels over the course of the year and will discuss literature concepts, vocabulary, and writing. Students will also learn grammar and spelling. In-class activities will be fun and interactive.

5th/6th Grade History: The Classical World: This class meets on Fridays only. Students will explore the cultural contexts of many New Testament events, as they will study the Greek and Roman classical world, using The Curious Historian, Level 2. Students will have hands-on projects and activities, along with reading assignments. This is a complete class, though it meets once a week.

5th/6th Grade Drama: This class meets on Wednesdays only. This class will offer students the opportunity to participate in theater games and mini skits throughout the year. There will be some small performances.

5th/6th Grade Art: This class meets on Wednesdays only. Students will be given creative opportunities each week and be exposed to many different mediums while gaining artistic understanding and confidence. 

5th/6th Grade Geography: This class meets on Fridays only. Students will learn Geography, starting with North America, and continuing continent-by-continent.
